We calculated it last night - I've been a Beastie Boys fan since I was in 3rd grade - so that makes it 24 years. (The 1st cassette tape I ever bought was Licensed to Ill). And after all of these years, last night was the 1st time I saw them live. There could not have been a better way to do it either. They put together a tour for Rock the Vote and had a variety of artists perform with them at various locations. Santogold, Ben Harper, Sheryl Crow - to name a few. For our show, the night before election day - we got to experience Tenacious D. What a show!
We got their early and made our way up to the front. The girls got to see everything without anybody infront of them. We had already voted, but there were lots of folks working the crowd making sure they signed up to vote and passing out 'cheat sheets' on the current issues. It was a good scene....and here are some of the scenes.
Last night in Milwaukee, Jack Black told us about a little accident he had - and here's a video.
Nice cover there Jack! You even did some freestyle lyrics - nice!
You better vote - otherwise you'll get a pick in the head and lambasted with rather creative names.
Jack after tearing it up on his SaxoMaPhier
The B-Boys take the stage!!!! It was like a greatest hits show: 3 MCs and one DJ, No sleep til brooklyn, So Watcha Want, Sabotage, Shake your rump...it was insane.
They did a encore collabo with Tenacious D - Time for Livin'
Jack Black was rolling around the stage in a Mountain Hardware softshell - good taste.
Overall - a killer night.
Oh yeah, and I got a new road bike today - it weighs 14.5 lbs - with pedals and cages. Oh my goodness. More coming soon. I think I'm soon to be a climber.
